Week 2

This is one I worked on using ink. It is an unforgiving medium. I enjoyed the bold color. I found it challging only because I tend to get caught in the details and tend to be afraid of making a mistake.  Ink has a lot of potential in taking me out of my comfort.  This is a bamboo stalk.
This is an example using continuous line which I did in a medium charcoal.  I tend to like the charcoals for their smudging properties.  This one was fun and I enjoyed the process though have to admit I made quite a few before I was able to relax and just let the lines appear.
This is an example of a blind contour line drawing done with a basic HB 4 drawing pencil.  I chose this one only because it was the hardest for me to chose.  It lacks controled detail with only the outline being displayed without "seeing" what I doing on paper.
